SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team defeated Presbyterian College 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon. After clinching the team point in the doubles matches, Wofford secured the win thanks to
Samantha Russell picking up a singles victory. With the win, the Terriers remain undefeated, moving to 6-0 on the season.

"We overcame a lot of challenges to get this win today," said head coach
Krissy Hall. "Despite those obstacles our team showed grit and energy which led us to the victory. I couldn't be happier for the team and the way we have started this season."

The Terriers began the match with a 2-1 victory in the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. The doubles lineup for the match was as followed: #1

Samantha Russell, #3

Brittney Wilbur. After going down 1-0, Reid & Russell picked up a 6-2 victory to tie the match. Hicks and Vroman then clinched the team point with a 7-6 (7-4) decision to put Wofford up 1-0.

After grabbing the team point, the Terriers continued to battle en route to the singles point. The singles lineup for the match was as followed: #1 Hicks, #2 Vroman, #3 Reid, #4 Wilbur, #5 Mayfield and #6 Russell. Presbyterian picked up the first two wins to go up 2-1 but then Hicks and Vroman picked up victories to put Wofford back ahead. Then, in her first singles match of the season,
Samantha Russell clinched the match with a 6-4, 5-7. 6-3 victory.

Wofford will return to the court on Saturday when the team travels to Conway to take on Coastal Carolina at 1:30.
