ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team defeated UNC Asheville 6-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers kicked off the day with a win in the doubles competition and continued the good play in singles matches. With the win, Wofford moves to 8-2 on the young season.

Wofford started the match with a solid performance in the doubles competition winning two of the three matches. The Terriers lineup for doubles was as followed: #1

Javi Casasolas. After the Bulldogs took an early lead but Wofford won the next two matches and clinched the team point thanks to a 6-4 victory from Cerbelli/Thomas.

After securing the team point, Wofford battled in the singles matches and secured the necessary three points for the win. Wofford's lineup for singles matches was as followed: #1 Cerbelli, #2 Chousa, #3

Omar Williams. Williams and Schoen picked up the first two wins with scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 respectively. Chousa then clinched the match for Wofford with a 6-3, 6-4 win from the number two position.

Wofford will return to the court on Tuesday, March 6 when the Terriers travel to Boiling Springs, N.C. to face off against Gardner-Webb.
