SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Terrier Relays on Saturday at the Viking Track on the campus of Spartanburg High School. Wofford set four new school records and had numerous top ten finishes in the meet.

The first event on Saturday morning was the men's 5000 meters, with
Cristian Widenhouse finishing in 15:57.90 for seventh place.
Whitley Elsass was fifth overall in the women's 5000 meters in 19:17.20.
Ford McCoy was seventh in the men's 800 meters, while
Jamie Barnett was seventh in the women's 800 meters. In the men's 1500 meters,
Ben Hensley was second in 3:58.55, just shy of the school record.
Cisco Ferre was third and
Jack Zemp was fourth in the event.

Amber Lust set a new school record and meet record with a 14.26 in the 100 meter hurdles for first place.
Isaiah Ellis took fourth place in the 110 meter hurdles and in the 400 meter hurdles was third overall in a school record time of 54.89.
Madison Paraskeva won the women's 1500 meters in 4:44.66, with
Taryn Schoen second and
Mary Stewart Wilson fourth.
McLeod Dean was second in the women's 100 meters.

In her first 3,000 meter steeplechase,
Hannah Steelman was first with a time of 10:20.61 to set a school and meet record.
Anya Bunao was second and
Alexandra Christopoulos was fourth in the event. The men's 4x800 relay team of
Jack Zemp,
Ben Hensley,
Ford McCoy and
Joe Harbacevich set a new school record with a 7:51.21 to finish first. The men's 4x400 team was fourth overall and the women's 4x400 team was third.

In the field events,
Amber Lust was seventh in the long jump at 5.31 meters.
Alexandra Burgess was third in the triple jump at 11.64 meters.
Hunter Griffin was the top finisher for Wofford in the men's hammer at 39.14 meters.
Austin Lufkin was sixth overall in the shot put at 14.76 meters. In the women's shot put,
Sandra Lopez threw 9.74 meters to lead the Terriers.

A total of 24 schools competed in this year's Terrier Relays, including Furman, The Citadel, Western Carolina, USC Upstate, High Point and Tiffin. Overall, fifteen meet records were set or ties during the event.

Next weekend the Terriers will travel to Miami for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational. The outdoor season will conclude for the Terriers on May 10-11 at the Southern Conference Championships.
