Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team defeated the The Citadel 7-0 on Monday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center. The Terriers swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead and followed suit with another sweep in singles play. With the win, Wofford moves to 10-6 on the season and 2-2 in the conference while The Citadel moves to 9-21 and 0-4 in the conference.

"We played a mature match today," said head coach
Rod Ray. "Multiple competitors demonstrated a strong will. The Citadel proved to be a worthy opponent and gave us the opportunity to demonstrate toughness. We're still improving but today was a great day for our team."

The Terriers opened the day sweeping the doubles matches while dropping just seven games. Wofford's lineup for doubles was as followed: No 1.

Javi Casasolas, No. 3
Lucas Cerbelli/
Kyle Barr. Chousa/Crawford began the match with a 6-1 win while Williams/Casasolas defeated their opponent 6-3 to clinch the team point. With the team point in hand, Cerbelli/Barr completed the sweep with a 6-3 win.

After taking the early 1-0 lead, Wofford would go on to win all six singles matches to down The Citadel. The Terriers lineup for singles was as followed: No.1 Cerbelli, No. 2 Chousa, No. 3
Edu Villar, No. 4
Parks Schoen, No. 5 Wiliams, No. 6 Barr. Villar defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-1 to make it 2-0 while Chousa made it 3-0 Terriers with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. With the victory in sight, Williams clinched the match for the Terriers with a 7-6, 6-2 decision. Wofford did not let up after clinching the match as Schoen, Cerbelli and Barr were all victorious to complete the sweep.

Wofford will return to the court on Sunday, April 8 when the Terriers host Charlotte at 2 PM. Wofford will then host UNCG on Tuesday, April 10 prior to ending the season on the road.
