JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Wofford College men's and women's track and field teams competed on Friday and Saturday at the Tri-Star Classic at Kermit Tipton Stadium at Science Hill High School hosted by East Tennessee State. The Terriers set three school records at the meet, along with numerous top five finishes.

On Friday in the field events, freshman
Megan Dunn broke the school record in the javelin at 40.63 meters which had been previously set in 2004. She was third overall in the event, with
Erin Troyer seventh.
Amber Lust set a new school record in the long jump at 5.57 meters for seventh place.
Omar Mingo was second in the men's long jump at 6.78 meters and
Conrad Heinrich was second in the javelin at 51.97 meters.
Austin Lufkin was second in the shot put at 14.47 meters, with
Hunter Griffin sixth in the event.
Sandra Lopez took ninth in the women's shot put.

In the distance events on Friday night,
Madison Paraskeva was second in the women's 1,500 meters at 4:43.08. In the men's 1,500 meters,
Jack Zemp was second in 3:59.39 and
Ben Hensley was third at 3:59.77.
Walker Gibbs was fifth in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Whitley Elsass was seventh in the women's 5,000 meters and
Will Stutts was tenth in the men's 5,000 meters.

The field events began Saturday morning with
Hunter Griffin finishing tenth in the hammer throw at 36.49 meters. Austin Kufkin added a third place in the discus at 48.60 meters and
Isaiah Ellis was sixth in the triple jump.

Saturday afternoon the running events began with the men finishing fourth in the 4x100 meter relay.
Amber Lust was third in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.14 and
Conrad Heinrich was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.24.
McLeod Dean won the women's 400 meters in a school record time of 55.73.
Bradford Smith was third in the men's 400 meters in 50.76 and
Omar Mingo was fourth in the men's 100 meters at 10.97. In the 800 meters,
Sommer McKenzie was tenth for the women and
Ben Hensley was fifth in the men's race.
LeAndrea Combo took fourth place for the women and
Jonathan Hall was sixth for the men in the 400-meter hurdles.
Bosco Bapoupeleh was fourth in the 200 meters for the men.

Among the ten teams at the Tri-Star field were four SoCon squads. Along with Wofford were Chattanooga, Western Carolina, and ETSU. The rest of the field included Anderson (S.C.), Carson-Newman, Georgia State, Jacksonville State (Ala.), Lenoir-Rhyne and USC Upstate.

The outdoor season will conclude for the Terriers on May 10-11 at the Southern Conference Championships hosted by Western Carolina.
