SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced its women's basketball player of the week on Tuesday for games played Jan. 8-14, as redshirt-junior
Chloe Wanink earned her second SoCon player of the week selection of the season through the first week of conference play.

Additionally, Wanink was also recognized by College Sports Madness as the Madness mid-major conference player of the week for the Southern Conference.

Wanink, a native of Cameron, Wisconsin, led the Terriers to their first two conference wins last week after putting on a scoring clinic, averaging 34.0 points per game while shooting 70.3 percent (26-37 FG) from the floor and 57.1 percent (8-14 3FG) from beyond the arc. She also went 8-for-11 (72.7%) from the free throw line while averaging 8.0 rebounds over the two games.

Wanink paced Wofford to their first SoCon win over Western Carolina on Thursday, breaking Jenny Nett's '02 single-game scoring record with a career-high 40 points, on 17-of-25 (68.0%) shooting, and five rebounds. Wanink went 4-for-7 (57.1%) from 3-point range, as her 17 made field goals also broke her own previous record (15) for field goals made in a single game.

She then followed her historic performance with a 28 point effort on Saturday, shooting 9-for-12 (75.0%) from the floor and 4-for-7 from deep, in a 93-66 win over UNCG. Wanink also went 6-for-8 (75.0%) from the charity stripe, while adding three rebounds and an assist.

After her prolific weekend, Wanink currently leads the SoCon in scoring, averaging 19.5 points per game, and 3-point field goal percentage, shooting 40.6 percent from beyond the arc.

She has also moved into the top-10 of Wofford's all-time scoring list, as she now claims the No. 10 spot with 1,123 career points.
