Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the JDL College Dual Meet Madness on Sunday at the JDL Fast Track. Numerous Terriers had top-eight finishes and two new school records were set during the weekend.
The competition began on Friday, as
Hannah Steelman competed at the Bob Pollack Invitational at Clemson University. In the mile, she was fourth overall with a time of 4:43.29, which broke her previous school record by over 13 seconds.
Shannon McAndrew ran the 3,000 meters at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University in 18:34.16 to place 34
th on Friday as well.
On Sunday in Winston-Salem,
Isaiah Ellis won the men's 60-meter hurdles in a school record time of 8.17.
Destiny Shippy was third in the women's 60-meter hurdle finals at 9.00.
Kassidy Morton was fifth in the women's 400-meters at 59.48, while
Elijah Bull took fifth in the men's 400-meters with a time of 51.11.
Amber Lust won the women's 60-meters in 7.72, with
Destiny Shippy eighth. In the men's 60-meters,
Jaylen Muhammad was eighth at 7.07 and he added a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters. In the 3,000 meters,
Mary Stewart Wilson was fourth for the women and
Ben Boatwright was fourth in the men's race.
Hannah Steelman added a second place in the 800 meters at 2:15.34, with
Madison Paraskeva fifth and
Sommer McKenzie eighth.
Bradford Smith and
Ford McCoy were sixth and seventh, respectively in the men's 800 meters.
Jamie Barnett was fifth in the women's mile and
Jack Zemp was second in the men's mile at 4:23.98.
In the field events,
Hunter Griffin was second in the shot put at 13.62 meters. The Terriers took second, third and fourth place in the pole vault, as Robert Stout,
T.J. Maxey and
Conrad Heinrich competed.
Isaiah Ellis was fifth in the triple jump at 12.20 meters.
Longinus Nnodim took second place in the weight throw at 16.71 meters, with
Hunter Griffin fifth and
Bryson Coleman sixth.
Chandler Robinson was third in the women's triple jump at 10.95 meters, as
Alexandra Burgess and
Destiny Shippy also finished in the top eight.
The women's distance medley team was first in 12:22.19. The men were second in the distance medley at 10:43.61. The women were sixth in the 4x400 relay, while the men were fourth in the event.
Over fifteen teams competed in the meet, including Davidson and UNCG. The Terriers will be back in action on February 1 and 2 at the Gamecock Invitational.
