SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men's tennis head coach
Rod Ray has announced that Will Fullett, Alex Horn and Ashe Ray have signed National Letters of Intent or letters of commitment to join the Terriers in the fall of 2020.
"Alex, Ashe, and Will are dynamite players," said Ray." We've got a good team right now and these three have the ability, commitment, and desire to help do great things. This is good class. There is no doubt that we hit an ace with these three."
Will Fullett is a native of Cumming, Georgia. He was named the MVP of the tennis team at South Forsyth High School for four years. As a junior he was team captain and led the squad to the final four. In 2018 the team won their first state championship. He is currently ranked fifth in the state of Georgia and 11
th in the South.
"Will is going be terrific for us," said Ray. "He plays a style that is fast and furious. He can hit winners and bait his opponents into playing poorly. Will can do it all…attack, defend, serve, and return. He's tough and has good touch. I can't wait to coach him."
Alex Horn is from Lexington, Kentucky. He was named MVP for Lexington Christian Academy as he led the team to qualify for the state for the first time in eight years. He also was named first team Academic All-State by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
"Alex is a gifted athlete who strikes the ball incredibly clean," said Ray. "He's quick as a cat, striking quickly and often. Alex has great offensive skills and can absorb the blows of the best. We're very fortunate to land Alex because he's going be a great Wofford player."
Ashe Ray is from Spartanburg, South Carolina. He played at Spartanburg High School, winning several state and national championships. He currently is ranked fifth in the South, along with being the second-ranked player in South Carolina.
"Ashe is a fierce competitor and a proven winner," said Ray. "Ashe can will dictate play with his great serve, forehand, and backhand, while also applying an enormous amount of pressure with his great anticipation and tenacious desire. The evidence is clear, he will be a great college tennis player and will thrive in the team environment."
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
