SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's track and field teams hosted the 2019 Terrier Relays on Friday and Saturday at the Viking Track on the campus of Spartanburg High School. Four school records were set during the meet for the Terriers.

Friday's events began with the hammer and shot put, which were held at USC Upstate.
Shakaiya Bradford had a mark of 12.00 meters in the shot put to finish seventh.
Longinus Nnodim was fourth in the shot put at 14.53 meters and ninth in the hammer throw at 43.58 meters. Â

On the track on Friday, the women's 4x200 relay team of
Amber Lust,
McLeod Dean,
Kassidy Morton and
Olivia Head was first in a time of 1:39.12. In the women's 4x800 relay, Wofford added a first-place finish as
Madison Paraskeva,
Sommer McKenzie,
Hannah Steelman and
Jamie Barnett set a new school record with a time of 9:05.52.

Saturday began with the 5,000 meters.
Nick Butler was 22
nd at 17:36.89 for the men and
Whitley Elsass was 13
th at 20:09.26 for the women. In the 800 meters,
Ben Boatwright won his heat and was 27
th overall at 2:02.58. For the women in the 800 meters,
Madison Paraskeva was second at 2:13.91 and
Jamie Barnett was fifth in 2:20.04.

In the men's 4x100 relay, the team of
Omar Mingo,
Bosco Bapoupeleh,
Isaiah Ellis and
Jaylen Muhammad was seventh overall with a time of 42.21.
Jack Zemp was sixth and
Ford McCoy was eighth in the 1500 meters with times of 4:02.49 and 4:04.40, respectively. In the women's 1500 meters,
Hannah Steelman took first place with a school-record time of 4:21.15 that also was a meet record.
Jamie Barnett was fourth at 4:49.50 and
Sommer McKenzie was tenth at 4:54.93.

Amber Lust won the 100-meter hurdles in 14.28, with Shakiya Bradford second at 15.02 and
Destiny Shippy seventh at 15.35.
Isaiah Ellis was fourth in the men's 110-meter hurdles at 15.06 and
Jonathan Hall was seventh at 15.38. In the 400 meters,
Bradford Smith was 13
th for the men at 50.68 and
McLeod Dean was second for the women at 57.14. In the men's 100 meters,
Jaylen Muhammad was second overall in a school-record time of 10.37.
Elijah Bull was fourth in the men's 400-meter hurdles in 55.22 and
Kassidy Morton added a school-record in the women's event with a time of 1:04.12.
LeAndrea Combo was 11
th overall in the 400-meter hurdles as well.

Jaylen Muhammad was second overall in the 4x400 relay with a school-record time of 3:21.57. The women's 4x400 for the Terriers was third overall at 3:56.42.

During Saturday's field events,
T.J. Maxey was ninth in the pole vault at 3.70 meters.
Conrad Heinrich was ninth in the high jump at 1.80 meters and
Shakaiya Bradford was eighth for the women in the event.
Caroline McWhorter was sixth in the women's long jump at 4.30 meters.
Omar Mingo took third in the men's long jump at 13.63 meters. In the women's triple jump
Chandler Robinson was eighth at 10.40 meters.
Hunter Griffin took eighth place in the discus with a throw of 41.71 meters.

A total of 31 schools competed in this year's Terrier Relays, including Davidson, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Radford, UNC Asheville, USC Upstate, Wingate, and Winthrop.

Following two additional meets for the Terriers, the Southern Conference Championship will be held on April 26 and 27 at Samford.
