Baseball Travels To UNCG To Complete Regular Season

THIS WEEKEND
The Terriers travel to UNCG for the final regular season series, with the games determining seeding for the upcoming SoCon Tournament ... Wofford has begun the season 31-22 ... The Terriers are 12-8 in the Southern Conference after a series sweep at The Citadel, series wins over Mercer,  Western Carolina and VMI, along with a split with ETSU and series losses to Samford and Furman ... UNCG is 32-16 overall after a win over Winthrop on Tuesday night ... They are 13-8 in the Southern Conference with sweeps of The Citadel and ETSU, series wins over Mercer, Furman and VMI and a series loss to Western Carolina and a sweep by Samford ... In a series that began in 1997, the Spartans hold a 48-21 lead over Wofford ... In 2018, UNCG won two of the three games played in Spartanburg and a game in the SoCon Tournament ... Wofford starters will be  LHP Hayes Heinecke (9-1, 2.95 ERA) and LHP David Yourke (1-4, 3.19 ERA) with Saturday to be determined ... UNCG starters will be RHP Austin Koehn (302, 3.68 ERA), RHP Phillip Sanderson (5-3, 5.60  ERA) and RHP Jake Mayhew (3-0, 4.41 ERA).

• The 36 wins in 2018 were the second-most in school history (39 in 2015). Wofford has won 20 or more games in nine straight seasons and have reached 30 or more in five of the last six seasons.

• In the national rankings, Wofford is third in stolen bases (145) and fifth in stolen bases per game (2.74).
• Wofford has stolen 100 or more bases in seven straight seasons, dating back to 2013, the longest active streak in Division I.
• OF Colin Davis was named to the Preseason All-Southern Conference first team. Pitchers Austin Higginbotham and Anthony Garcia, along with DH Lawson Hill, were named Preseason All-Southern Conference second team.
