JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Wofford College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in the ETSU Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center. Four school records were broken during the meet.
On Friday in the field events,
Georgia McDevitt was second in the triple jump at 11.59 meters to set a new school record in the event.
Jenna Reid was tenth in the weight throw at 13.50 meters.
William Stout was third in the pole vault at 4.50 meters to set a new school record and place second overall.
Nate Myers was sixth in the weight throw at 15.05 meters.
In the running events on Friday,
Madison Paraskeva was second in the 800 meters at 2:20.74, with
Kassidy Morton third and
Sommer McKenzie fourth.
Ford McCoy was fourth in the 800 meters at 2:01.98.
On Saturday,
Madison Paraskeva won the mile in 5:14.34, with
Sommer McKenzie a close second in the race.
Jack Zemp was second in the mile at 4:24.47.
Netanya Linares broke her previous school record in the pole vault by clearing 3.40 meters to finish third.
Tanner Henry added a fifth place in the high jump and
Shakaiya Bradford was eighth in the shot put.
Georgia McDevitt was 5.96 meters in the long jump to finish second with a school record.
Kassidy Morton was fourth in the 400 meters and
Destiny Shippy as sixth in the 60 meters.
Isaiah Ellis won the men's 60-meter hurdles in 8.20, with
William Stout sixth. The men's distance relay of
Ford McCoy,
Sam Larkin,
Bradford Smith and
Jack Zemp took first place. The women's 4x400 relay was fourth overall with the men sixth in the same event.
Up next, the teams will be in action on January 24-25 at the Liberty Kickoff.
