THIS WEEKEND
The Terriers host Merrimack for a three game series this weekend ...  Wofford has opened the season a 7-2 after winning three of four games played last weekend and then falling 11-6 at USC Upstate on Tuesday night ... Wofford was 36-25 overall and 14-9 in the Southern Conference last season to finish second, the best in school history ... The Terriers were picked first by the coaches and second by the media in the SoCon Preseason Polls ... Merrimack is in their first full season as an NCAA Division I member in the Northeast Conference ... They are 5-3 overall and last weekend won three of four games played against Michigan State at Fluor Field ... Last season they were 28-20 overall and 18-9 in the Northeast 10 Conference ... These will be the first meetings between the two teams ... Wofford starters will be RHP Jake Hershman (1-0, 0.71 ERA) on Friday and LHP Hayes Heinecke (1-1, 2.55 ERA) on Saturday, with Sunday to be  determined ... Merrimack will start RHP Riley Sorenson (1-0, 2.51 ERA) on Friday, RHP Cedric Gillette (2-0, 3.00 ERA) on Saturday and RHP Vin Zappulla (0-1, 9.90 ERA) on Sunday. Full game notes can be found HERE.
