SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Senior forward
Alexis Tomlin of Wofford women's basketball has been tabbed as the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Nov. 24-30. The selection is made by the conference office.

To qualify for the recognition, the guidelines require that a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 and the student-athlete must have completed one full year at the school.

Tomlin is the first-ever student-athlete of the week in Wofford women's basketball history. It's her second accolade of the season after
being named to the Preseason WNIT Classic All-Tournament Team for the NC State pod. She is the third Wofford student-athlete to earn the honor during the 2021-22 academic year, with volleyball's Meghan Yaffa and football's Atkins Roberts also garnering selections. Â

"I'm really proud of Lexx and this recognition," said head coach
Jimmy Garrity. "She puts in a lot of effort to be the best student she can be. She is a great representation of Wofford College."

In Wofford's only game during the selection period, Tomlin led the Terriers in rebounds with 12, matching her season-best and finishing one shy of her career-high as Wofford defeated High Point 74-52 on Tuesday, Nov. 30. She finished with nine points, one shy of attaining her third double-double on the season. The Myrtle Beach, S.C. native also dished three assists, a new career-high. A rebounding machine, Tomlin currently sits fifth on the SoCon leaderboard with 8.4 RPG.

A biology and mathematics major, Tomlin is boasting a 4.00 GPA. She was accepted into her top choice for medical school, the Medical University of South Carolina, during the game against High Point last night.

After improving to 2-5, Tomlin and the Terriers head to Conway, S.C. to take on Coastal Carolina at the HTC Center on Saturday, Dec. 4 to begin the second month of the season.
