GREENVILLE, S.C. – Senior
Ryan Marter (-2) shot a career and round-low 5-under-par 66 in Sunday's final round at the par-71 Furman University Golf Course to finish with a career-low total of 211 to lead the Terriers, as Wofford saw three top-15 finishers to place fourth among a competitive 17-team field at the Furman Intercollegiate.

Marter opened Friday's first round even-par with five birdies prior to finishing 3-over in the second round (74). Plagued with rain throughout the latter portion of Saturday's second round and the late morning/early afternoon portion of Sunday's final round, Marter powered through in the third, carding seven birdies, to see himself finish tied for third for his second career top-five finish.Â

The finish serves as the first top-10 this spring for Marter, as he also finished tied for the most birdies throughout the weekend (14) with the tournament's individual medalist, Furman's No. 68-ranked Keller Harper.

Junior
Matthew Copeland (+1) continued his steady play for the Terriers, recording a 73 in the first round before blazing a career-low 6-under-par 65 in Saturday's second round with six birdies. Copeland then leveled off on Sunday with a 76 to finish tied for seventh with his second consecutive top-10 finish and third this spring.

Entering the weekend's competition, Copeland ranked fourth among the Southern Conference with a 72.60 stroke average.

Junior
Walker Jones (+3) rounds out the Terriers in the top 15, combining for seven birdies over the first two days, with an even 71 in the first round and 1-over-par 72 in the second, as Jones finished with a 73 on Sunday to register his season-best finish tied for 14
th with a total score of 216.

Jones led the field of 102 players in par-3 scoring (2.83 avg.), finishing 2-under overall on par-3s for the tournament.

Wofford (+8) was in second entering Sunday's final round, as the Terriers finished 8-over as a team to finish in fourth place with a total score of 860. Tournament host Furman (+1) narrowly won the crown by two strokes over Florida Gulf Coast (+3) and Chattanooga (+5), as the Paladins also claimed the tournament's individual medalist in Harper. FGCU's Jon Hopkins (-3) finished just one stroke better than Marter to earn runner-up.

The Terriers finished nine strokes better than the next finish, scoring wins over 13 teams in Charleston Southern (+17), High Point (+22), Marshall (+25), Toledo (+25), Francis Marion (+26), Division II No. 2 USC Aiken (+30), UConn (+38), Samford (+39), Western Carolina (+41), George Mason (+41), Presbyterian (+45), Towson (+53) and Xavier (+61).

Matthew Larkin (+9) finished tied for 47
th, recording an eagle in the first round and combining for five birdies over Friday and Saturday to finish with consecutive 72s and pace the sophomore to a three-round total of 222.
Jackson Hill (+13) finished tied for 67
th with a total score of 226, highlighted by a solid second-round performance that saw Hill tally four birdies for a 1-over-par 72 on Saturday.

Harry Jones (+1) competed as an individual, finishing tied for 38
th after a solid weekend that saw a first-round 73 and second-round 70 (-1). Jones recorded 10 birdies on the weekend, finishing with a 78 in Sunday's final round to register a total of 221.

Next, Wofford will return to the course on Monday, April 12-13, as the Terriers will host the Wofford Invitational at the Country Club of Spartanburg. Â
