GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Wofford men's golf team concluded the first day of the 2021 Southern Conference Golf Championships on a high note on Monday evening, rebounding from a tough first round in finishing 3-under as a team in the second to sit in fourth entering Tuesday's final round at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Golf Course in Greensboro, Georgia.

All five Wofford golfers remain in the top 25 individually, as juniors
Matthew Copeland (+1) and
Walker Jones (+1) highlight the Terriers' performances on the day in the top 10 – both tied for ninth.

Copeland recorded a 74 in the first round, prior to notching three birdies on the front nine of the second round, along with a birdie on No. 1, to carry him to a 1-under 71 to end the day. Jones also finished 2-over-par in the first round, as he additionally tallied four birdies in the second round to finish with an identical 71.

No. 50 ETSU (-13) currently leads the field by 11 strokes, as Western Carolina (-2) follows behind as the only other lone team to finish under par after the first two rounds. Furman (+6) sits in third just four strokes ahead of the Terriers.

Matthew Larkin (+3) bounced back from a 77 in the first round by recording a team round-low of 70 in the second round to see himself tied for 17
th. Larkin was solid, heading into the back nine 2-under, as he notched four birdies in the round to finish the back nine even with a 2-under-par 70.

Jackson Hill sits tied for 22
nd, recording a 77 in the first before finishing with a 1-over-par 73 in the second. Hill led the team in birdies for the day (8), as he also currently sits tied for third among the field in par-3s (-1).

Senior
Ryan Marter sits tied for 24
th, recording a 77 in the first round, as Marter would finish the day even on the back nine in the second round to conclude the day with a 2-over-par 74.

The final round of competition in Greensboro is slated to begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, April 20, with split tee times on holes No. 1 and No. 10.
