GREENSBORO, Ga. – Juniors
Walker Jones (+3) and
Matthew Copeland (+4) led the way for the Terriers with top-10 finishes, as the Wofford men's golf team notched its best finish since 2017 at the Southern Conference Championships, placing fourth at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.

The fourth place finish marks its best since placing third in 2017, while Jones' eighth-place finish marks the best individually since Andrew Novak '17 tied for seventh in 2017's tournament.

Jones and Copeland, who tied for ninth-place, both finished the final round with 75s, as Jones used a 2-under front nine performance, with four birdies on the day, to pace the junior to a final score of 219 for the tournament. Copeland would tally three birdies through the final round to finish even on the back nine for a total score of 220.

Additionally, Jones (11) and Copeland (10) led the team with the most birdies, while Copeland tied for third among the field in par-3s (E).

th-ranked ETSU (-5) won the conference title by eight strokes over Western Carolina (+3), as Furman (+4) finished in third over the Terriers by four strokes. Wofford (+18) finished three strokes better than UNCG (+21), with a total score of 882, while scoring wins over Mercer (+22), Chattanooga (+31) and Samford (+54).

Sophomore
Matthew Larkin (+6) corralled a top-15 finish, tied for 15
th, with a total score of 222, as he finished the day with a 75 as well. Larkin led the team with 33 pars for the tournament, while finishing tied for third among the field in par-5s (-6).

Senior
Ryan Marter (+7) earned a top-20 finish in 18
th place, as the senior recorded the team round-low with an even-par 72 on three birdies. Marter finished with a total score of 223 in his final tournament with the Terriers, as he corralled the second-most pars on the team with 32.

Sophomore
Jackson Hill (+13) concludes the Terriers that competed, finishing tied for 34
th with a total score of 229 for the tournament.

Ryan Marter finishes the season as the team leader with a 71.86 stroke average through 21 rounds played this spring, followed by
Matthew Copeland with a 72.58 average and
Matthew Larkin with a 73.75 average – both through 24 rounds played.
Walker Jones (73.92, 24 rounds) and
Jackson Hill (74.53, 15 rounds) follow, capped by senior
Nick Willis (75.08, 12 rounds) to round out Wofford's top six competitors on the year.
