SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After setting a school record at the Golfweek Fall Invitational with an individual performance of 17-under-par 199, sophomore
Harry Jones of the Wofford men's golf team has been selected as the Southern Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for all competition to this point in the fall.

The selection is made by the league office and is the first one of the season.

"I am not shocked at Harry's record win this week," said head coach
Van Williams of Jones' performance. "He has been playing great golf this summer and it was just a matter of time before he got his first win."

Jones earned a first-place finish at the Golfweek Fall Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, surpassing Andrew Novak's program record of 13-under, set in February 2016. Jones, a sophomore from Augusta, Georgia, posted three straight rounds in the 60s. He led the tournament with 18 birdies, suffering only two bogeys over the tournament's three-day span.

Jones matched the program's second-best single-round performance with a 7-under-par 65 in the first round on Sunday and continued with an impressive 4-under
-68 in the second round, before nabbing seven birdies on the final day for a 6-under 66 performance to claim Wofford's new low 54-hole score.

Wofford finished the Golfweek Fall Invitational tied for 10
th in the 18-team, 93-golfer field
, with a 1-under-par 865 performance. The Terriers shot 288 in the first round, 294 in the second, and 283 in the final round, helping push past Gardner-Webb (+3), USC Upstate (+4), St. Thomas (+13), and Stephen F. Austin (+14).

Wofford, will return to competition on Sept. 27, with the Terriers competing at the J.T. Poston Invitational at the Sapphire Valley Club in Sapphire, North Carolina.
