CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford men's golf team placed 13th in the Daniel Island Intercollegiate hosted by Charleston Southern with a score of 918 at the Ralston Creek Course, a par 72. Max Cranford led the way for the Terriers with a 224 to tie for 22nd, concluding the fall slate for Wofford.

Wofford shot 918 for a 54-over par score as a unit, finishing 13th in the 18-team field. Despite a 320 stumble of the gates in round one, the Terriers recovered nicely with a round-two 301 and a sub-300 297 in the final round to move up to the 13th position. Wofford notched wins over five squads, including fellow Palmetto State neighbors USC Upstate, College of Charleston and Francis Marion while also besting HCU and Seton Hall. The host Buccaneers finished in 12th, nine strokes ahead of the Terriers. Mississippi State won the event by three strokes over Florida Gulf Coast with a score of 879.

Max Cranford was the top Terrier in the tournament with a score of 224. Though carding a first-round 79, he bounced back to card 74 and 71 in the final two rounds to finish 8-over par and tied for 22nd. With nine birdies, Cranford was just four off of the leading 13.

South Carolina's Gene Zeigler claimed low medalist honors with a 2-under 214 to win the even by three strokes.

Cedric Otten and Bailey Means came in behind Cranford, tying for 51st. They each shot 231 to finish at 5-over par. Matthew Larkin finished in a tie for 65th with a score of 234. Larkin recorded the most pars of any Terrier with 37, tying for sixth-most in the field and just two behind the lead of 39.

Walker Jones rounds out Wofford's lineup with a score of 239 to tie for 83rd. Competing as an individual, Ben Jordan also shot 239 to tie with Jones for 83rd.

After wrapping up the fall slate of action, the Terriers will now set their sights on the spring and return to the course in 2023.
