SPARTANBURG S.C. – The Southern Conference announced the 2022 men's soccer all-conference teams Thursday afternoon, with six Terriers selected for various SoCon honors. Nikolai Rojel was selected as the SoCon Freshman of the Year while also being named to the All-SoCon First Team and All-Freshman Team. Jackson Wrobel and Paul Jones joined Rojel on the All-SoCon First Team while Jakob Andersson was selected to the All-Socon Second Team while also being named to the All-Freshman Team. Joining Rojel and Andersson on the All-Freshman Team are Nathan Childress and Zakaria Holmen.
 
"Any time the program and its players are recognized for their success on the field, it's a positive and encouraging feeling," said head coach Joel Tyson. "The special thing about the all-conference voting is that other coaches are recognizing the difference your players are making throughout the conference season. There are some great players in this league representing each institution, and we are proud of our players for their recognition and for their dedication and standard of play this year."
 
Rojel led Wofford this season with his team-leading eight goals, placing him second in goals scored in the SoCon. His 18 points ranks second on the team, with Rojel recording a point in the last three matches. Rojel's six goals in September earned him the SoCon Offensive Player of the Month, the first monthly honor in program history.
 
Wrobel provided the other half of Wofford's one-two punch on offense, with his 19 points on the season a team-high, which also ranks second in the SoCon. His six goals sits second on the team and fourth in the SoCon while his seven assists are a team-high and ranks third in the conference.
 
Jones joins Rojel and Wrobel on the All-SoCon First Team after starting in 15 games this season for Wofford. Jones has been the one of the leaders on the defensive side for Wofford and has also added production on offense with two assists.
 
Andersson is the lone Terrier on the All-SoCon Second Team after recording six points on one goal and four assists this season. Andersson scored his first career goal in the regular season finale against UNCG. He also recorded an assist on the game-winning goal at Queens. Andersson was also selected to the All-Freshman Team.
 
Childress and Holmen join Rojel and Andersson on the All-Freshman Team. Childress appeared in 15 games for the Terriers, starting in 11, and recorded an assist at Queens. Holmen has played in each of the 16 contests this season for Wofford while earning 15 starts.
 
No. 4 Wofford will face No. 5 Furman in the SoCon Quarterfinals tomorrow night at 4:00 p.m. at UNCG. The Terriers defeated the Paladins 2-0 in Greenville earlier this season.
 
Coaches are not allowed to vote for themselves or their players as part of the conference voting.
