SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Phil Steele and DraftScout have announced the 2022 FCS postseason All-Conference teams. The publication annually selects teams for all fifteen FCS conference. This season ten Terriers were selected as All-Southern Conference honorees.
Wofford's
Micheal Mason was named to the All-Southern Conference first team on the defensive line. Wide receiver
Landon Parker was named to the second team, offensive linemen
Al Hogan and
Anthony Garcia, along with
Kyle Parsons at the all-purpose returner position were named to the third team. Running back
Nathan Walker, offensive lineman
Jason Swann, defensive lineman
Chuck Smith, linebacker
David Powers and punt returner R.J. Khayo earned fourth team selections.
Mason, a senior from Florence, S.C., played in all eleven games with nine starts at defensive end. He led the team with 9.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. Among SoCon leaders he was third in sacks and eighth in tackles for loss. He was sixth on the team with 41 total tackles.
Parker, a senior from Concord, N.C., played in all eleven games with ten starts. He led the team with 40 catches for 804 yards and three touchdowns. His 804 receiving yards in a season set a new school record. He was fifth in the SoCon with an average of 73.0 average receiving yards per game.
Hogan, a senior from Fayetteville, Georgia, started all eleven games on the offensive line for the Terriers. Three starts came at center, with the other eight starts at right guard.
Garcia, a junior from Leavenworth, Kansas, started nine games on the offensive line. He made one start at left guard before moving to center for the final eight games of the season.
Parsons, a freshman from Weddington, North Carolina, played in all eleven games with one start in the backfield. He led the team in rushing with 105 carries for 485 yards and three touchdowns. On kickoff returns he had 24 for 483 yards to lead the team. Among SoCon leaders, Parsons was sixth in kick return yardage (20.1 per return) and seventh in all-purpose yards at 98.3 per game.
Walker, a senior from Ridgeville, S.C., started ten games at running back. He was second on the team in rushing with 98 carries for 313 yards. He led the team in rushing touchdowns with seven and also led the team in scoring with 42 points. Walker also had three catches on the season.
Swann, a junior from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, started ten games on the offensive line. He made one start at right guard, two at left guard and then the final seven games at left tackle.
Khayo, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, played in ten games and returned nine punts for 117 yards. Against VMI, he had an 84-yard punt return for a touchdown. He also had 17 catches for 220 yards and a touchdown.
Smith, a sophomore from Suwanee, Georgia, started ten games at defensive end. He recorded 29 total tackles and was tied for second on the team with 2.5 sacks. He also had 4.5 tackles for loss that ranked second on the team, along with two forced fumbles.
