SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford baseball team took both legs of a twin bill against The Citadel at Russell C. King Field on Sunday, winning game one handedly 11-1 before edging the Bulldogs 6-5 in the nightcap. Wofford improves to 35-13 overall and 12-3 in SoCon play. The Citadel falls to 22-24 and 2-13 in league action.

The Terriers swept the doubleheader to complete the series sweep, the fifth series sweep of the season. Wofford's winning streak stretches now to five games, and the home winning streak has expanded to 17. With the game two triumph, the Terriers remain perfect at now 6-0 in their gold uniforms.

Game One
Coulson Buchanan (4-0) earned the win after spinning a gem as the starter for Wofford. The freshman went 6.0 innings deeps with just a run and walk allowed and no runs. He fanned four.

The Citadel's starter, Cameron Reeves (2-7), suffered the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits in 6.0 innings.

Lawson Hill led the way at the dish with three hits, including two doubles, and two RBI.
John Dempsey knocked two hits, one of which was a solo shot to right for his 10
th homer of the year.
Zeb Roos totaled a career-high four RBI on his two hits, and
Brennen Dorighi notched two RBI to tally a multi-RBI affair.

After the first three innings were spotless for both clubs, there seemed to be the makings of a pitcher's duel until the Terriers scored in the fourth.
John Dempsey opened it up with a solo homer, and
Zeb Roos brought home two more with his single.

Two more runs score in the sixth, lifting Wofford to a 5-0 advantage.

The Citadel got on the board with an RBI groundout in the seventh, but the Terriers exploded to pull away in the bottom of the frame.
Brennen Dorighi's two-run double started things off, and a well-executed double steal saw
Shane Lussier swipe home. Another double, this one by Roos, score a run for the 9-1 lead.

Lawson Hill plated two more with another double in the eighth, and that capped an 11-1 triumph for the Terriers.

Game Two
Dalton Rhadans (7-3) notched the game two win for Wofford after tossing the final 3.0 innings and giving up two runs on four hits. He did not issue a walk and struck out two.

Jordan Beatson (2-5) suffered the loss out of the bullpen for The Citadel after surrendering three runs on four hits in 2.2 innings.

Trey Yunger paced the squad offensively in game two, posting four hits and finishing a homer shy of the cycle. He knocked home a run while scoring twice.
Ryan Galanie touted a two-hit game, one of which was a long bomb for his 11
th this season.
Lawson Hill secured a hit again to extend his hit streak to 21, and he secured an RBI.

The Citadel struck first with a run in the to of the first, but Wofford pulled level with a sac fly in the bottom of the frame.

The sides traded blows again in the fourth, with the Bulldogs scoring twice in the top half. The Terriers responded with another sacrifice fly and a based loaded walk to even things at 3-3.

A solo home run in the top of the seventh put The Citadel in front once more, but Wofford finally pulled ahead with three in the bottom half.
Ryan Galanie belted a deep homer to center field to tie the score, and
Trey Yunger put the Terriers in front with an RBI triple. Another sacrifice fly made the score 6-4.

An RBI double in the top of the ninth for The Citadel made it a one-run game, but
Dalton Rhadans locked down the win to strand the potential tying run on base. The 6-5 victory secured a doubleheader and series sweep for Wofford.

The Terriers will be back in action at Russell C. King Field on Wednesday, May 11 when they host Presbyterian in the season's final non-conference matchup. First pitch against the Blue Hose is slated for 6:00 p.m.
