Wofford Baseball Announces Signing Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford baseball head coach J.J. Edwards announced today his first signing class as skipper of the Terriers. The class features 18 student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent or letters of commitment to join the Wofford baseball team next fall.
 
"We are excited to have these young men joining our program," said Edwards. "Our coaching staff did a great job of evaluating and creating relationships with each one of these student-athletes, making sure they fit the standard and identity we seek in a Wofford baseball player. They will all be great additions to our locker room and the Wofford community."
 
The class of 18 covers nine different states and features an international player from Japan. Pitchers comprise a majority of the class as seven are hurlers. The rest of the class features five infielders, three outfielders, a catcher and a pair of two-way players.

Miller Alston is a 5-11, 160-pound left-handed pitcher and outfielder from Marietta, Georgia. Alston has sponsored a .508 batting average alongside an ERA of 2.78 as a two-way player. He has earned both an academic and athletic letter and garnered the Iron Raider Award. He boasts all-county, all-state and all-region selections while helping his Walton High School squad to a second-place finish in the region in 2023.
 
Carson Cherry is a 5-9, 160-pound outfielder from Mooresville, North Carolina. Since being called up to the Lake Norman varsity squad as a freshman during the playoffs, Cherry has scored 42 runs, notched 41 RBI and tallied an .859 OPS with nine doubles and a pair of homers. Cherry has earned Greater Metro 4 A All-Conference recognition with an All-County Outfielder selection. He was also a member of the 2022 Body Amor NC State Games baseball team. A National Honors Society member, Cherry ranks in the top six percent of his class academically.
 
Joey Chitla is a 5-10, 168-pound middle infielder from Wake Forest, North Carolina. Chitla has twice earned a gold glove award while finishing in the final four in the conference with his North Raleigh Christian Academy team. As a freshman, he led in triples before leading in doubles, hits and steals the following season. With a GPA over 5.0, Chitla ranks first in his class academically while also assisting in the community with food trucks and the Miracle League.
 
Cade Collins is a 6-2, 185-pound middle infielder from Fort Collins, Colorado. Collins owns a .437 batting average for his career with 14 doubles, eight homers and 20 steals. He is a three-time first-team all-conference player, three-time team MVP, and two-time all-state honorable mention recipient. Collins has added a second-team all-state selection alongside playing in the top 50 state all-star game.
 
Cullen Condon is a 5-10, 170-pound right-handed pitcher from Manasquan, New Jersey. A team MVP, Condon is a second-team all-conference recipient and has been invited to the Carpenters Cup two years in a row. He was also invited to the Garden State game. No stranger to baseball success, his father Michael Condon played collegiately for Seton Hall before spending three years in the Anaheim Angels organization.
 
Wes Estes is a 6-1, 190-pound right-handed pitcher from Waxhaw, North Carolina. Estes tallied 13 strikeouts and only one earned run allowed as a junior while also hitting .435 at the plate. After being named honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore, he earned an all-conference selection as a junior. A two-sport athlete, Estes has also earned all-conference recognition as a defensive player in football.
 
Lucas Grantham is a 6-2, 180-pound catcher and first-baseman from Smyrna, Georgia. Grantham owns a batting average over .370 with an OPS over .880 while touting a .997 fielding percentage behind the plate. Grantham has helped his Campbell High School squad earn a third-place finish in the region while receiving all-academic team recognition and earning his school's comeback player of the year award.
 
Tanner Hardin is a 5-11, 185-pound infielder from Union, South Carolina. In helping his Union County High School team win a district title in 2023, Hardin earned Region 4 AAA All-Region and an All-State selection. In that championship season, he hit .415 with 28 RBI, 25 runs and a .407 on-base mark while only striking out four times. Off the diamond, Hardin is a member of Beta Club and National Honors Society.
 
Cam Larson is a 5-11, 160-pound right-handed pitcher from Greenwood Village, Colorado. Larson has earned a first-team all-tournament recognition five times while also sporting a first-team all-conference selection. In 2023, Larson helped his Cherry Creek High School team to rank second in the state. His brother also plays college baseball at Augustana College.
 
Austin Laughlin is a 6-4, 205-pound right-handed pitcher and first-baseman. He is a three-time first-team all-region member and has thrice played in the All-State Game. In both 2021 and 2022, his Cardinal Newman teammates voted him to receive the school's Cy Young Award. On the bump, he boasts a 2.03 ERA with nine wins and a pair of saves with 131 punchouts. At the dish, Laughlin touts a .358 batting average with 76 hits, five homers and 61 runs knocked in.
 
Andrew Lepine is a 6-1, 170-pound right-handed pitcher from Winter Springs, Florida. Lepine has pitched over 70 innings for his Winter Springs High School squad with 89 strikeouts, a 1.36 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP. In 2023, he helped his team to a region final four appearance after claiming the regional championship, pitching in four of the six postseason games.
 
Jack Painter is a 6-2, 195-pound corner infielder from Columbia, South Carolina. He and his Dreher High School team have twice won a district title, and Painter owns four varsity letters with an all-region honor in 2023. As a junior, he hit .371 with an OPS over 1.000 alongside 33 RBI.
 
Brady Snow is a 6-3, 215-pound right-handed pitcher from Littleton, Colorado. He has twice played in the Top 50 All-Star Game while also twice earning First-Team All-Conference. He has made the National High School Colorado Team. In 2023, Snow struck out 48 batters in high school while also hitting .323 at the plate. With his club squad, he has exclusively pitched the last two seasons to the tune of 67 punchouts. Each season Snow boasted an ERA under two, 1.96 in 2022 and 1.27 in 2023.
 
Benjamin Timblin is a 6-3, 215-pound outfielder from Signal Mountain, Tennessee. Timblin has twice earned Best of Preps recognition with two All-District honors while also boasting an All-State and District Player of the Year award. He owns 80 hits, four homers 13 doubles and a 0.75 ERA on the mound. Timblin is the second cousin of MLB pitcher Brad Hand.
 
Kaz Uehara is a 5-9, 145-pound outfielder from Tokyo, Japan. With IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Uehara has hit .493 while going a perfect 20-for-20 on stolen bases. He was named the 2019-20 pitcher MVP before winning a gold glove the following season and the Hitter MVP the year after that. Father is Koji Uehara, former MLB pitcher with over 20 years of professional baseball experience between Japan and the US.
 
Mason Weaver is a 6-2, 195-pound right-handed pitcher from Fort Wayne, Indiana. As a junior, Weaver set the school record for most strikeouts in a season at Homestead High School. That effort helped his squad win both the sectional and regional titles. He touts a 10-1 record with a 0.84 ERA in over 74 innings with 111 punchouts. Weaver has hurled five complete games with a pair of no-hitters while holding the opposing bats to just a .143 average.
 
Jamie Whittier is a 5-9, 175-pound right-handed pitcher from Roswell, Georgia. Whittier holds his Centennial High School record with 10 wins in a season in 2023. That year saw him earn First-Team All-Region and Second-Team All-State while being named to the Maxpreps All-American Team. He owned 76 strikeouts with a 1.12 WHIP in that campaign.
 
Thomas Woodbridge is a 5-10, 190-pound infielder from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Appearing in the PBR Future Games twice in 2021 and 2022, Woodbridge added a high sch0ol batting average of .454 in 2022. His sister, Sophie, currently plays softball at Yale, and his father, Richard, played baseball at Le Moyne before spending time in the San Diego Padres organization.
 
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
