SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College head baseball coach
J.J. Edwards has announced the schedule for the 2025 Terrier baseball season. Edwards and his club face a full slate with 28 home games scheduled at Russell C. King Field. The Terriers are the defending Southern Conference Tournament champions and fresh off an NCAA Tournament appearance. The season opens at home on February 14.
The slate features three teams that also made the NCAA Tournament last season in Army, High Point and Kentucky. The Wildcats made an appearance in the College World Series last season. Alongside Wofford's 28 home games, the Terriers will see action in a professional ballpark with a midweek matchup against crosstown foe USC Upstate at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina, home of the High-A Greenville Drive.
"We're excited to play plenty of high-level competition from around the country," said Edwards. "Of course, this schedule features plenty of challenging opponents, both in conference and out. But we've put in a lot of work to get to this point, and we're looking forward to putting our best product on the field as we get ready for another competitive season."
Wofford opens the campaign with eight consecutive home contests. The season begins with a three-game series against Ohio that begins on Friday, February 14. After a midweek game against Charlotte, Army West Point comes to town for three games. The homestand wraps up on Tuesday, February 25, with a midweek tilt against UNC Asheville. The Terriers then play their first road game of the season with a Wednesday trip to Davidson the following day.
Wofford is back home that weekend to host Le Moyne for three contests, and then it's back on the road for the Terriers with seven-straight away match-ups. First, Wofford travels to face Presbyterian in midweek action before a weekend series at Kentucky. The Terriers will play in Lexington from March 7 to 9 and then return to the Palmetto State for a battle at the College of Charleston on Tuesday, March 11. Wofford then opens a three-game split series against Elon with the first two meetings on March 14 and 15 at the Phoenix. The series wraps up in Spartanburg on Sunday, March 16.
The Terriers then face two Big South midweek battles with a trip to UNC Asheville and neutral site action against USC Upstate at Fluor Field in Greenville. Wofford returns home to host Villanova on March 21-23.
Southern Conference play is up next with a trip to The Citadel to conclude March. The opener is March 28 with the series running through March 30. The Terriers then battle USC Upstate once more in midweek action before hosting Samford for their first three home conference games. After a home midweek against Winthrop, Wofford heads to North Carolina to face UNCG in a three-game set from April 11 to 13.
Wofford will host USC Upstate in a midweek tilt before going back to the Tar Heel State for a three-game series against Western Carolina. After hosting Queens in midweek play, Wofford again travels above the border for three games against High Point. The series opens with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26 and closes with a single game on Sunday, April 27. Wofford then plays Winthrop in a road midweek contest.
May begins with a three-game series at home against Mercer followed by a home midweek against Presbyterian. The Terriers face their final road test with three games at ETSU before welcoming VMI to town for the final series of the season, taking place May 15-17.
The Terriers will then face the Southern Conference Tournament from May 21 to 25. Wofford will enter the event looking to defend its title after playing seven games in five days during last season's tournament to claim the championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. In the Chapel Hill Regional, Wofford downed LIU to claim its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory.
