Wofford owns the all-time series with The Citadel, leading 71-53 dating back to 1899. The Terriers swept the Bulldogs in Charleston last season and currently tout an overall 11-game win streak over The Citadel dating back to 2021. SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS
The series this weekend has already been affected by Mother Nature, with game one being postponed into a doubleheader on Saturday. The series was originally scheduled to open at 5:30 p.m. Friday night, but due to forecasted inclement weather changes were made. The series now begins with a doubleheader on Saturday with first pitch of game one set for 2:00 p.m. The series finale on Sunday is still set for 1:00 p.m. With the amendments to the schedule, only games two and three of the series will be streamed on ESPN+ - game one will not. However, live stats will be available online for all three contests.

SCOUTING THE CITADEL
The Bulldogs boast a strong defense, turning the most double plays in the conference with 17 twin killings, and their .981 fielding percentage is second in the league to only Wofford's .983 clip. As a team, The Citadel hits .313 with 15 total home runs, and on the other side it owns a 5.32 ERA. Javier Crespo and Wells Sykes lead the way for the Bulldogs offensively with batting averages of .431 and .422, respectively. Crespo's 31 hits are third in the SoCon. On the bump, Sam Swygert and Ben Hutchins are tied for second in the league for wins with three Terriers, as they all tout three total victories. Hutchins adds in a pair of saves. Landon Slemp and Hutchins both own sub-3.00 ERAs, touting marks of 2.83 and 2.95, respectively.

KEEPING IT CLEAN
The Terrier defense has put on a clinic this season, not just making incredible plays but also making sure to take care of the routine ones, too. Wofford is guilty of only 11 total errors in the field, tied for the second fewest in the nation. With a fielding percentage of .983, Wofford boasts the seventh-best clip in the country. The Terriers have 12 games without an error committed, and they have gone errorless in seven of the last nine outings. Six Terriers with at least 20 fielding chances own perfect fielding clips, most notably including Daniel Jackson and Dixon Black. Jackson owns no errors in his time behind the dish, and Black has played a lockdown third base with zero miscues to go with his 28 assists.

GOING ON THE OFFENSIVE
The Wofford offense has been almost unstoppable so far in 2024, totaling 209 runs through the first 18 games of the season, eighth most in the nation. At an average of 11.6 per game, the Terriers lead the country in scoring. This is aided by the country's best on-base percentage (.474) and batting average (.356) and 34th-most hits (221). Wofford has scored double-digit runs in every game but seven so far this season and outscored its opponents 209-93.  It has been a balanced attack, as all nine qualified Terrier hitters are batting over .300 with a pair of them sitting over .400. Brice Martinez (.418) and Dixon Black (.406) are the duo hitting over .400 with Marshall Toole (.394) knocking on the door. Gunnar Johnson (.390), Tyler Hare (.355), Andrew Mannelly (.353), Daniel Jackson (.340), David Wiley (.316) and Jack Renwick (.311) are all also hitting over .300. Wofford owns double-digit hits in every game but five, including seven of the last nine games.

THE BRICE IS RIGHT
Fifth-year second baseman Brice Martinez was an immediate contributor when he arrived on campus for the 2022 season, and last season saw his game elevate even further. After playing two seasons of JuCo ball, Martinez joined the Terriers in 2022 and quickly won the second base job, hitting .331 with 52 hits, 41 RBI and 11 steals. Last season, Martinez upped his game to hit .352 with 75 base knocks and 45 runs driven home alongside 16 swipes. That batting average ranked 10th in the SoCon last season. Martinez is featuring yet again as a key contributor in 2024, living up to the Preseason All-SoCon Team selection he garnered. With 28 hits and a .418 average, Martinez adds in 16 RBI with 18 runs scored and 12 walks drawn. His batting average is fourth in the conference, and his .512 on-base clip is sixth.

CONTRIBUTING EARLY
A pair of freshmen have been key contributors early in their careers for Wofford. Catcher Daniel Jackson has played in 13 games with 11 starts, serving as both a DH and the backstop. Jackson is hitting .340 with 16 base knocks, including three doubles and a home run. He has scored 12 runs while knocking in 14 with a .426 on-base mark and .468 slugging clip. Fellow rookie Tyler Bak has become the regular starting left fielder, tallying a .313 average over 15 games with 10 starts. He boasts 10 hits, two doubles, 11 runs and one RBI. Bak has also stolen five bases, tied for third on the team.

ON DECK
The Terriers hit the road again to kick off a six-game road swing beginning with a midweek battle at Winthrop. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. in Rock Hill on Tuesday, March 26, before the Terriers travel to VMI for a weekend series against the Keydets.
