SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference today announced its weekly volleyball honors and Wofford's
Annemarie Rakoski was selected as the defensive player of the week. The selections are made by the league office.

This honor comes as the third of the season for Rakoski and the fourth of her career. The selection marks the fifth time Wofford has had a player of the week this season. That is the most in a season since 2023 when the team had a player selected eight times.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Rakoski totaled nine blocks through two matches last week as the team swept both Mercer and Furman. Across six sets of action, Rakoski posted a league-best 1.50 blocks per set. Against the Bears, the senior middle blocker recorded five blocks en route to a straight-set victory. Rakoski had four rejections in a sweep against Furman, two of which were solo. She also totaled 11 kills while hitting .381.

For the year, Rakoski has recorded 76 blocks – good for second in the conference and 61
st in the nation. She is also second in the conference with 1.27 blocks per set.

Wofford will stay at home this week, hosting both UNCG and ETSU. The Terriers will welcome UNCG on Thursday, October 16, at 6:00 PM while ETSU, who is ranked first in the SoCon, will visit on Friday, October 17.
