GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Wofford men's golf team concluded their fall season Sunday afternoon at the two-day Furman Intercollegiate at the par-71 Furman University Golf Course. The tournament took place on October 18-19, where the Terriers finished in 11
th place with a 28-over 880 team score. Freshman
Andrew Neal came out as the top finisher for Wofford, finishing in 34
th place out of 87 players with a seven-over par 297 marker.
The Terriers opened the first round with a score of 294 before turning around to finish day one with a 291. A 295 completed play in the closing round on Sunday as Wofford carded their second-straight 880 to place 11
th in a field of 15 teams. The Terriers tied for the fourth-lowest par-three average with a 3.13 and the seventh-lowest par-five average with a 4.82. Wofford also finished with the seventh most birdies with 37. Stetson won the 15-team field with a score of 849, with the Hatter's top finisher Matthis Lefevre taking first place with a six-under par 207. Lefevre was two strokes ahead of the runner-up, Benjamin Baker of Virginia Tech.
Andrew Neal was the top Terrier in the event with a score of 297 at seven-over par. Neal posted a 72 in the first round and continued his success into round two to card a 71 to cap off day one. Neal concluded round three with a six-over par 77 to secure his spot in 34
th place. Neal tied for eighth best in birdies, having a total of 11 during the two-day tournament.
Ben Jordan and
Major Lenning finished the event with a score of 222 at nine-over to place tied for 46
th. Jordan carded a 76 in the first round but came back to make a 74 to end round two. Jordan concluded round three with the momentum he had from round two to card a 72. Lenning opened his first round with a 73, just two-over par before he carded a 76 in the second round to end day one. However, Lenning came back to conclude the tournament with a 73. Lenning ended with the fourth highest number of pars made with 40.
Will Brown had a solid first two rounds as he carded a 73 and a 72. Brown finished round three with a 78 to place 57
th with a ten-over par 223. Brown tied for sixth-best par-five average in the tournament with a 4.56. Junior
Davis Neal finished in 66
th place with a score of 225 at 12-over. Neal opened the first round with a shaky 78, before he turned it around to shoot a 74 in round two. Neal ended round three on a high note with a 73 to finish in 66
th place. Neal tied for the sixth-best par-three average with an even 3.00.
Two Terriers competed as individuals for the event:
Glover Amick and
Jack West. Amick was the second top finisher for the Terriers as he placed 38
th with a solid 221. Amick had a solid showing in round one where he made an eagle at hole 15 to close off with a 75. Amick continued his momentum into the final two rounds, where he carded a 73 to secure his spot for 38
th. Amick was also tied for sixth with Brown for the best par-five average with a 4.56. West placed 71
st with a 13-over 226 score. West opened his first round with a solid 74, a new career low. West continued into round two to card a 77, before he turned it around in the closing round to finish with a 75. Amick and West were the only Terriers to have an eagle in the tournament, where they were two of 10 players to record one.
The Terriers will return in the spring of 2026, when they compete in the Palmas Intercollegiate in Humacao, Puerto Rico, from February 8-10.
