Volleyball Selected to Lexington Regional of NCAA Tournament

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The 2025 NCAA Volleyball Tournament bracket was announced this evening during the NCAA Selection Show. The Wofford Terriers, who won their third-straight Southern Conference Tournament Championship, will take on the University of Kentucky in the opening round at 7:00 p.m. ET. Kentucky will be hosting the Lexington Regional.

"Kentucky puts on a great event," said head coach Lynze Roos. "We were really blown away with how well we were treated two years ago. They are an elite program, so we have our work cut out for us."

The full field of teams and bracket were announced at 6:00 p.m. by the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Selection Committee on ESPN. Joining the Terriers in the pod are Georgia Tech and UCLA – Wofford took on Georgia Tech earlier this season. The Terriers will take on Kentucky at 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 4, in the Historic Memorial Coliseum. The winner of the two matches will move on to face each other on Friday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. ET.

"It's exciting," said Annemarie Rakoski. "We work so hard to get to this moment, so every time it comes around we get so excited. We are 17-strong on our team – we always have that mindset. Our coaches are really good at preparing us for our opponents. If we play our game and have fun, we will do really well."

The Terriers are no stranger to the SEC, as the team matched up with South Carolina, Tennessee, and Ole Miss earlier this season. In total, Wofford played five schools in power conferences. The Terriers went to five sets with Clemson, while taking a set off of both Tennessee and South Carolina this year. In Wofford's first NCAA Tournament appearance two years ago, the team matched up with Kentucky in the first round as well.

Wofford is 17-13 this season with a 10-6 mark in the SoCon. The Terriers entered the conference tournament as the No. 3 seed, sweeping both No. 6 Samford and No. 2 Furman. Wofford took down No. 1 ETSU 3-2 during the championship match to earn its third-straight SoCon title and trip to the NCAA Tournament.
