Softball Announces 2026 Schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College softball head coach Chelsea Butler announced the 2026 schedule on Monday morning. The 51-game slate is highlighted by 31 games at Hope Field, including three tournaments at home to start the season. The Terriers will open the year with 10-straight home games.

Wofford will face off with seven teams that were in the NCAA Tournament a year ago. The Terriers will host Robert Morris and USC Upstate, who are both defending champions of their respective conferences. Wofford will take on Mississippi State and Clemson in the Tiger Invitational, and the team will play Elon and UNC on back-to-back days at the end of March. Mercer, who is the defending Southern Conference champion, will be the final NCAA Tournament opponent.

"We are looking forward to competing this spring," said head coach Chelsea Butler. "The goal every year is to continue to elevate our program and that includes piecing together a challenging and competitive schedule. We have the opportunity to welcome a ton of quality opponents to Hope Field this spring, as well as play in some challenging environments on the road. The Southern Conference is a strong softball conference, and we will have the chance to compete week in and week out during SoCon play. Team Three is looking forward to building upon past successes and taking our softball program to new heights!"

The 2026 season opens with the third annual Terrier Invite hosted at Hope Field from February 6-8. Wofford will welcome Kent State, IU Indy, and Monmouth on the opening weekend. The Terriers will follow that up with the Wofford Invitational spanning from February 13-15, with visits from UNC Wilmington, UMBC, and St. Bonaventure.

Wofford will take its first road trip to Presbyterian on February 18 for a midweek matchup, followed by its final home tournament, The Sparkle City Invite. Co-hosted with USC Upstate, the Terriers will welcome Robert Morris, Morgan State, Holy Cross, and Harvard from February 20-22. The Terriers will host USC Upstate at Hope Field on February 24.

The team will then travel to Clemson, South Carolina, to compete in the Tiger Invitational from February 27-March 1. Wofford will take on Mississippi State and the Clemson Tigers in back-to-back games before a matchup with Georgia Southern the following day. The Terriers then return home to College of Charleston on Tuesday, March 3. That is the first of a five-game home stand, with the team hosting a series against Longwood on March 13 and 14. Wofford will close the home stretch with a midweek game against Presbyterian.

March 21 starts Southern Conference play, as the team will travel to Chattanooga for a weekend series. The Terriers follow that up with back-to-back dates in North Carolina, taking on Elon March 24 and UNC on March 25. Wofford will close out its eight-game road stint with another weekend series at the defending SoCon Champions, Mercer.

The Terriers return home for Easter weekend to play host to Samford before traveling to Winthrop on Wednesday, April 8. Wofford will welcome UNCG a few days later for a home series. A road game at USC Upstate is followed by a trip to ETSU on April 18-19. The Terriers will take on Winthrop at Hope Field during the week before a short trip to Furman on April 25-26. Wofford will play its final series of the regular season at Hope Field, as Western Carolina visits on May 1-2. The Terriers will then travel to Chattanooga as the Mocs are hosting the Southern Conference Tournaments from May 6-10.

Wofford enters into its third season of existence in 2026 after finishing with a program-best 30-22 record and an 11-8 mark in conference play last season.
