SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford's
Sherika Christie was named the Most Outstanding Female Field Performer as the Southern Conference outdoor track and field men's and women's specialty awards were announced on Friday. The awards were voted on by the league's ten outdoor coaches.
Sherika Christie, a sophomore from St. Catherine, Jamaica, scored 35 points at the 2025 Southern Conference Outdoor Championship. Christie won the long jump with a jump of 6.07m. She placed second in the triple jump (12.22m), fourth in the 100m hurdles (13.99), fifth in the javelin (42.64m) and high jump (1.61m), sixth in the shot put (12.07m), and eighth in the discus (36.49m).
Christie, who was also named the Southern Conference Most Outstanding Athlete at the conclusion of the meet, is the first Terrier to be named Most Outstanding Field Performer and joins Hannah Steelman (2019) and Kerrington Johnson (2023) in earning an outdoor specialty award. Christie was also named the SoCon Indoor Most Outstanding Field Performer in 2024 and 2025.
