Wofford Men’s Soccer Welcomes 15 Newcomers

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men's soccer coach Ryan Osborne has announced the addition of 15 newcomers for the 2025 season. The group includes two transfers and one freshman who joined the team in the spring semester, plus three additional transfers and nine freshmen who will arrive in August.
 
"We are excited to welcome all these young men into our program and family," said head coach Ryan Osborne. "They have all displayed many qualities that we rate highly here at Wofford and we look forward to their growth on and off the field. We can't wait to welcome all our current and new players back to campus for pre-season in early August."
 
The 2025 newcomers are:
 
Samuel Byron (5-8, 152, Ooltewah, Tenn.) is a winger who has played for Nashville SC Academy and combined for 57 goals and assists in his career. He graduated from the TPH Academy. His brother, Carlos, played soccer at Bryan College.
 
William Causey (6-0, 160, Avondale Estates, Ga.) is a center midfielder from Drew Charter School. In four seasons, he scored 52 goals with 38 assists, earning All-Region honors three times and All-State honors once. He also plays club with the Concorde Fire, earning ECNL Southeast Conference first team honors.
 
Cooper Dissinger (5-9, 140, Cornelius, N.C.) is a defender who played for Charlotte FC Academy. In 2024, he reached the MLS Next Cup Finals. He graduated from Charlotte Mecklenburg Virtual School.
 
Ethan Duncan (6-0, 180, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) is a defensive midfielder at Oceanside Collegiate Academy. The team won the state championship in 2023 and 2024, while they reached the title game in 2025. He earned All-State honors as a junior and senior. He also plays for the South Carolina Surf ECNL.
 
Sebastian Eranka (5-11, 150, Helsinki, Finland) plays midfield with HJK Helsinki and the team was the U20 Finnish National Champion. He graduated from Etu-Töölö Upper Secondary School. Both of his parents were student-athletes at USC Upstate, with his father playing soccer and mother running cross country.
 
Hugo Harvey (5-7, 160, Derby, England) played in over 200 games for Derby County FC as a right back. The team was a semifinalist in the Premier League National Tournament twice and was also a finalist. He was named Player of the Tournament in the Sligo European Tournament as the team reached the finals. A graduate of the Ecclebourne School, he also played in over 40 games for Burton Albion FC.
 
Niklas Hegle (6-3, 205, Trondheim, Norway) is a center back with Byåsen Toppfotball. He played in over 40 senior matches since 2022 and has over 140 career matches played with 22 goals. His team won the Skandia Cup twice and the Obos Cup twice as well. He graduated from Strinda Videregaaende Skole.
 
Mikey Hernandez (5-8, 150, Burlington, N.C.) joined the Terriers as a transfer in the spring of 2025. He played back at UNC Wilmington in 2022, seeing time in three games, and redshirted the 2023 season. In 2024, he played in 13 games with nine starts at Longwood. In four years at Western Alamance High School, he had eight goals and 24 assists.
 
Pepe Hinterschuster (6-3, 181, Neustrelitz, Germany) spent the 2024 season at Oklahoma Christian. A goalkeeper, he started all 17 games and was named Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year, LSC All-Freshman Team, and second team All-LSC. Overall, he had 32 saves and a 1.21 goals against average with four shutouts.
 
Edvin Laangdahl (6-2, 180, Uppsala, Sweden) joined the Terriers as a freshman in the spring of 2025. A midfielder, he played at Celsiusskolan in Uppsala.
 
Gavin Lewis (6-3, 180, Wake Forest, N.C.) is a center back with North Carolina FC Academy. He served as team captain and was named a Top Drawer Soccer 3-Star prospect. He started four games as a freshman at Heritage High School. His father played soccer at the University of Richmond.
 
Evan Morris (6-0, 180, Fort Mill, S.C.) is a goalkeeper who played the last two seasons at Queens University of Charlotte. In 2024, he started six games in goal with 29 saves. As a freshman in 2023, he played in 12 games with 11 starts as he was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team. He earned All-State and All-Region honors while at Nation Ford High School and also played with Charlotte Soccer Academy.
 
Bear Rice (6-1, 195, Raleigh, N.C.) is a center midfielder with North Carolina FC Academy. He was an honor roll student at Millbrook High School.
 
Franklin Spires (5-7, 144, Lexington, S.C.) joined the Terriers as a transfer in the spring of 2025. He spent his first two seasons at Georgia Southern, seeing time in ten games with two starts. A midfielder, he played at Lexington High School where he earned All-State honors.
 
Max Talley (5-10, 156, Memphis, Tenn.) played the last two seasons at the University of Virginia. The midfielder played in six total games with the Cavaliers, scoring a goal in 2024 against Saint Joseph's. He signed an academy contract with Memphis 901 FC and was a five-time state champion at Houston High School.
 
 
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
