SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Southern Conference announced its weekly softball awards on Monday afternoon, and Wofford's
Brianna Stanley was named the SoCon Player of the Week. The awards are selected by the league office.

Chelsea Butler. "Bri led us in almost every offensive category last week, and we are looking forward to seeing her continued impact on Wofford Softball!"

This is the second honor for Stanley this season and the third for the team. Stanley is the first player in program history to earn the honor twice in one season. Stanley was also named the D1Softball Mid-Major Player of the Week.Â

Stanley, a sophomore infielder out of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, helped lead the team to a 5-0 record last week. Stanley hit .571 throughout the stretch and totaled eight hits, 13 RBI, four runs scored, one double, and four homers. She started off the Sparkle City Invite with two hits, a home run, a double, and three RBI against Morgan State. Stanley followed that up with two homers and four RBI against Robert Morris. She recorded her fourth home run of the week in a 4-3 win against Holy Cross. Stanley closed the week with two hits and three RBI in a 6-0 win over Harvard on Saturday.

With 13 home runs in her career, Stanley is now the all-time leader in program history. Her six homers to start the season is just two shy of the single season record of eight set by
Hope Ingle last season. Nationally, Stanley ranks 13
th in hits (24), 23
rd in home runs (6), eighth in RBI (24), 18
th in slugging percentage (1.091), and 13
th in total bases (48).

Wofford is currently off to its best start in program history with a 13-1 record. The team is winners of 11 in a row and will host USC Upstate on Tuesday, February 23, at 6:00 p.m. The Terriers will then compete in the Tiger Invitational at Clemson University from February 27-March 1.
