Wofford Names AFL Student-Athlete Leaders of the Month For January

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College and AFL have announced the Student-Athlete Leaders of the Month for January. The month's honorees are Queen Ikhiuwu from the women's basketball team and Patrick Green II from the men's track and field team.  
 
Green is a junior from Beech Island, S.C. At the Tryon Banked Invitational on January 30, he set a new school record in the triple jump at 14.96 meters, breaking the mark of 14.93 meters set in 2002 by Adrien Borders. He took first place in the triple jump at the Tryon Winter Classic. Green has been named All-Southern Conference three times in the indoor and outdoor triple jump. A computer science major, he has been named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
 
Ikhiuwu, a junior from Madrid, Spain, leads the team in scoring with 14.8 points per game and in rebounding at 7.6 per game. She is ranked fourth in the SoCon in rebounding and third in scoring, while posting five double doubles. She was named Southern Conference Player of the Week on November 18. A biology major, Ikhiuwu has been named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
