SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  The 2026 Men's Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team has been announced by the Southern Conference, with Declan Mettee and Max Talley representing Wofford College. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team or players.
 
Mettee is fresh off a 2025 campaign in which he finished second on the team with five goals and third on the team with 11 points, despite only starting five out of his 19 games and finishing twelfth in minutes. Mettee was named to the 2025 SoCon All-Tournament Team after he scored a game-winner in overtime against ETSU to send Wofford to the SoCon Semifinals.

Talley also had an excellent year in 2025, totaling two goals and three assists, which was good for fifth and third among the team, respectively. He was also fifth on the team in points with seven.
 
Wofford was selected to finish fifth in the Southern Conference preseason coaches' poll. The Terriers open their season at Gardner-Webb on August 20, with their home opener on September 1 against Winthrop. SoCon play begins on October 3, when the Terriers will travel to VMI.
