Scouting the Terriers
Wofford closed their 2025 season with a record of 6-11-2, finishing fifth in conference play with a 1-4-0 record. Declan Mettee and Max Talley were named to the 2026 All-SoCon Preseason Team, after Mettee provided five goals and one assist for the Terriers in 2025, and Talley added two goals and three assists. Wofford enters the year with 14 newcomers, consisting of nine freshmen and five transfers, and Coach Ryan Osborne returns for his second year to lead them. Coach Osborne has also added a new assistant coach in Ty Usiak, who spent the 2025 season as an assistant coach at Western Michigan University.
 
Scouting the Runnin' Bulldogs
Gardner-Webb finished their 2025 season with a record of 13-3-2, with a 5-1-1 record in conference play. They finished second in the Big South Conference Tournament after a 3-0 loss to High Point in the championship match. In the offseason they hired Head Coach Jonathan Lagos, who was a Wofford assistant coach during the 2018 season. The Bulldogs had three players finish with five or more goals in 2025, including Samson Kpardeh who had the third-most goals in the Big South with eight.

This will be the 28th meeting between Wofford and Gardner-Webb. Their last game was in 2025, when the Terriers fell short 2-1.
