HIGH POINT, N.C. – Wofford men’s tennis dropped a road match to the Panthers of High Point University in High Point, N.C. Friday afternoon, 6-1.
Freshman Paul Bartholomy earned the Terriers’ lone singles point of the match by defeating Jim Trussler at the No. 5 position. Bartholomy won by a score of 6-3, 6-3.
Senior Richard Cahi made his debut appearance in singles action today, competing at the No. 6 slot.
Bartholomy also saw success in doubles competition with Cahi as they teamed up to claim Wofford’s only double match win. Playing at the No. 3 spot, Bartholomy and Cahi beat the Panthers’ duo of Julien Antraygues and Ben Deloume 8-6.
“Our effort and attitude at today’s match was exciting,” said head coach Rod Ray. “However, our performance was not perfect, but we tried hard. High Point is a good team. I predict that they will finish the season very high in the Big South Conference. Congratulations to High Point on a good win.”
The Terriers will travel to Greenville, S.C. Sunday for a 10 a.m. match against Yale at the Mickel Tennis Center on the campus of Furman University.
