"We had to come to play today,” stated Head Coach Rod Ray. “Davidson is a good team that is much better than their record indicates. They competed hard and played to win. Although we struggled today at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, I believe that all of our guys tried very hard in singles. I am proud of everyone for fully investing in today's match. We tried hard today.”

The Terriers have made a living in Southern Conference play in doubles play as they have taken the doubles point in all five previous SoCon wins and today was no different. Scott Collins and Tinus van Wyk made quick work of Brandon Byrd and Carter Braxton on court No. 3 defeating the Wildcat duo 8-0. Davidson answered with a win on court No. 2, but the freshman pair of Danny Manlow and Stuart Robertson went down to the wire to secure the doubles point for the Terriers by holding off Eric Noble and Calum Gee 9-7 on court No. 1.

Leading 1-0 heading into singles play, the terrific trio of van Wyk, Donald and Bartholmy along with quick work by Manlow secured the win for the Terriers. Manlow easily ousted Walker Lyons on court No. 2 6-1, 6-2. Van Wyk won his 8th straight singles match as he was forced to go to three sets but prevailed 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 on court No. 4. Donald continued his streak by winning his 4th straight match by defeating Arie Hefter 6-1, 6-2 on court No. 5. Bartholomy was not to be outdone by his teammates as he continued his current winning streak by winning his 5th straight singles match taking down Braxton 6-2, 6-0 on court No. 6.
