Terriers Take Second Led by Joye at Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate

Final Results

SAVANNAH, GA. -- Led by Mark Joye’s opening two rounds of four under 68 the Wofford College Terriers finished in second place at the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate at the Savannah Quarters Country Club. 

Joye, whose 68 ties the school record for lowest 18-hole rounds, repeated his performance three hours later with another round of 68.  Joye fired a 136 through two rounds on Monday and finished in a tie for sixth place after shooting a 75 in the third round for a final score of 211.

Chandler Brazeal shot a one-over 73, a one-under 71 and a two-under 70 for a final score of 214.  Brent Whitehead posted a two-over 74, a two-under 70 and a 75 for a total of 219.  Zach Capps fired an even par 72 in round one and shot a 75 in round two, while Brent McKenize shot a final round two-under 70 to round out the Terriers combined lowest scores.  McKenzie and Capps finished with scores of 222 and 225 respectively.

Wofford posted a team score of 861 (-3) over the three rounds.  They finished 17 shots behind team winner Florida Gulf Coast, who shot an 844 (-20).

The Terriers had lower scores than three other Southern Conference teams in the tournament:  Davidson (872), Elon (875) and Georgia Southern (888).

Wofford will tee off again November 18th and 19th at the Davidson College Invitational in Cornelius, N.C.
