Terriers Take Third at Tribe Invite

MONTPELIER, VA. -- The Wofford College women’s golf team turned in a 36-hole score of 614 to finished third in the Tribe Invite hosted by William and Mary at the par-71 5,829 yard The Hollows Golf Course.

The Terriers shot a 299 on day one and a 315 on day two to finish 16 strokes back of tournament winner, and Southern Conference opponent, Western Carolina, who shot a 598.

Anne Marie Covar led the Terriers with a 149 to finish in a tie for third place six shots off the of tournament winner Emma Jonsson of Morehead.

Covar and teammates Alex Rankin and Sarah Hurt turned in scores of 72 on day one for Wofford.  Meredith Few shot an 83 to round out the Wofford scorers on day one.  On day two, Covar shot a team low of 77 and Rankin followed with a 78.  Hurt and Few shot an 80 to complete the day two scorers.  Rankin finished in fifth place with a 36-hole score of 150, while Hurt took 11th with a 152.

Wofford will wrap up their fall season with the Paladin Invitational on October 29 through October 31 in Greenville, S.C.
