ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Freshman Anne Marie Covar won the Winthrop University Intercollegiate at the Rock Hill Country Club with a two-round score of 143 (-1) as the Wofford College Terriers took second overall.

Covar finished the 5,900 yard course as the only player below par.  She shot a 74 on day one then turned around with a tournament-low 69 to win the event by seven strokes.  It was the freshman’s best two-round score, best 18-hole score and best finish in her short career as a Terrier.

Teammate Meredith Few turned in a 151 with a day one score of 75 and day two score of 76 to finish in third place.  It was her best finish of her career and her fourth top ten performance of her career.

Alex Rankin finished just outside the top 25 with a 26th place finish with a score of 160 (80,80).  Leah Stevens finished one stroke behind with an 81 and an 80 for a 161 to round out the Terrier scorers.

The Terriers finished just five shots off of tournament winner Radford University (610) with a team score of 615.
