DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. -- Freshman Chandler Brazeal fired a 36-hole score of 144 with a 75 in round one and a tournament low of 69 in round two of the Rees Jones Intercollegiate at Haig Point’s par-72 Haig course to finish second in the tournament and give the Wofford College Terriers a third place team finish.
Brazeal finished one shot off of the tournament with his even par score in the two-day event. It was the second time Brazeal had finished even par in as many collegiate tournaments, however he set a new 18-hole low with his second round score of 69.
Zach Capps cracked the top ten with a 36-hole score of 150 (+6), which was good enough for eighth. He shot a 76 on day one and responded with a 74 on day two. Brent White followed with a 153 (+9) with rounds of 80 and 73. Mark Joye rounded out the scorers for the Terriers with a 158 (+14). Joye shaved ten strokes off his first round score of 84 with a score of 74 in round two.
The Terriers turned in a team score of 605 to finish at +29, which was 12 strokes off of tournament winner Kennesaw State.
Wofford will tee off again October 10th in the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate.
