Charleston, S.C.- The Wofford men's tennis team lost a hard fought match to Yale University on Saturday afternoon in Charleston, S.C. by a score of 6-1.
Yale was able to jump out to an early lead by winning all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 advantage.
In singles play Wofford team captain Paul Bartholomy won the lone match for the Terriers. Bartholomy defeated Daniel Hoffman at number four doubles by a score of 6-2, 4-6, 1-0. The third set was decided over a ten point tie breaker which Bartholomy won 10-7.
After the match Wofford head coach Rod Ray said
"Hats off to a Yale team that was tough as nails. We gave a good effort, but simply put they were better than we were today. We had some good matches and a lot of opportunities that we can learn from."
Wofford will be back in action on March, 16 when they will take on Appalachian State at the Reeves Tennis Center on the Wofford College campus
