Final Results
SUNSET BEACH, N.C. -- The Wofford College men’s golf team opened their fall season with an eighth place finish in the Sea Trail Men’s Intercollegiate Tournament at the par-72, 6,761 yard Reese Jones Golf Course hosted by Elon College.
The Terriers finished the three-day tournament with a score of 873 (+9). Host Elon won the tournament with a score of 850 (-14), while Samford finished in second with a 856 (-8).
Wofford finished the first day in last place with a day one score of 295, but rallied on day two with the fourth lowest score of the tournament, 282, that put the Terriers in sixth place. On the final day, Wofford shot their worst round of the tournament, 296, to finish in eighth place.
Chandler Brazeal led Wofford with the team’s lowest three-round score of 213 (71, 70, 72), while Zach Capps, 218 (76, 68, 74) shot the team’s lowest single round score on day two with a 68, which tied his personal best 18-hole round. Mark Joye followed with a 221 (75, 70, 76), and Adam Dolezal rounded out the Terrier scorers with a 223 (73, 74, 76).
Brazeal and Capps both broke the top 25 with Brazeal taking sixth with his -2 and Capps finishing in 23rd with a +2.
Wofford will tee off in their next tournament on October 4th and 5th in the Rees Jones Tournament held in Daufuskie Island, S.C.
