Rankin Ties Career Best at Administaff Lady Jaguar Invitational

AUGUSTA, GA. -- The Wofford College women’s golf team fired a three-round score of 931 (313-310-308) to finish in 15th at the Administaff Lady Jaguar Invitational host by Augusta State University at the par-72 Forest Hills Golf Club.  The opening two rounds were held on Sunday, with the final round on Monday.

Alex Rankin led the Terriers on day one with rounds of 73 and 76, and finished with the team’s second lowest round on day with a 78 for a 227.  Her 227 54-hole score tied the lowest score of her career and tied the mark for the third lowest 54-hole score in Wofford Division I history.

Anne Marie Covar fired rounds of 79, 77 and 75 for a 231, while Meredith Few turned in her scorecard with rounds of 79, 80 and 75 for a 234.  Covar and Few tied for the Terrier lowest round three score with their 75s.  For Few her 234 was one shot lower than her previous 54-hole career mark.

Sarah Hurt was the final Terrier scorer with rounds of 82, 77 and 80 for a 239.  

Purdue won the event with a team score of 859, while Augusta State’s Casey Kennedy won the individual title with a 205.

The Terriers will tee off at the Low Country Intercollegiate as the host team on March 20 through 21 in Hilton Head, S.C.
