SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men’s tennis team takes to the sky today as they fly to California to participate in the UC Irvine Invitational.
 
Head Coach Rod Ray had this to say about the trip, “We are ecstatic about going to California to compete. We have a really exciting team this year. So far the players have been working their tails off day in and day out with no complaints or hesitations. They have big lofty dreams and work ethics that scream out that they know where they’re going. They just love it and it everyone’s passion just feeds off each other like wild fire. The focus and intensity in practice has been fantastic which just boils down to character. I feel like the luckiest guy on earth to be taking our team on a great trip like this. I have absolutely no doubt that we will be a better team by the time this trip is over.”
 
The event is the first for any Wofford team in California since 2009 when the men’s soccer and men’s basketball teams played in the NCAA tournament at UC Santa Barbara and the Cable Car Classic respectively.
