SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Upstate Invite on Saturday morning at the Roger Milliken Research Center. In a competitive meet, the women finished sixth overall and the men were fifth.

In the women's 5K race,
Taryn Schoen finished 14
th overall in a time of 18:48.89 to lead the Wofford team.
Mary Stewart Wilson was 21
st at 19:05.84 and
Shannon McAndrew was 27
th in 19:28.11.
Anya Bunao crossed the finish in 19:48.82, followed by
Madison Paraskeva in 19:56.38 to round out the top five. Also running for the Terriers were

Anna Lyles,
Jamie Barnett,
Alexandra Christopoulos,
Alexa Golbus, Rebaka Fadgyas,
Chandler Washburn,

The men's 8K competition followed and
Cisco Ferre was the top finished for the Terriers in 26:15.45 to take 20
th overall.
Cristian Widenhouse was 21
st at 26:30.37 and
Jack Zemp was 23
rd at 26:37.92.
Ethan Epstein ran a 27:02.02 and
Jonathan Rice finished in 27:17.59 to round out the scorers.

David Grant and William Stutts also competed for Wofford.

Overall, Florida Gulf Coast won the men's race and Lipscomb took first in the women's event.

Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Saturday, October 8 at the Furman Cross Country Classic in Greenville.
