CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team concluded play Sunday afternoon at the Charlotte 49ers Invitational.

Julian Chousa,
Lucas Cerbelli, and
Haris Poric were the six Terriers that competed in the three day event, which began Friday morning and concluded Sunday afternoon.

"This tournament delivered lots of match experience against good competition," head coach
Rod Ray said. "We played a ton of matches in three days and had a blast laying it on the line. I'm extremely please with our level of effort."

Overall, Wofford players took part in four out of the five singles draws and three out of the five doubles draws.

Five of the six Terriers finished the tournament with 3-1 records in singles and the team posted a 17-7 combined record over 24 matches.

Despite losing his first match on Friday, freshman
Julian Chousa won his next three matches, rallying from behind to win the consolation final of his draw, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, over UNCG's Ian Melnik.

Fellow freshman
Lucas Cerbelli finished the weekend 3-1, splitting his first two matches before winning two in a row to win his sub bracket with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Davidson's Jordan Hart.

"I was very impressed with Lucas and Julian," Ray said. "Without a doubt, they are going to have great careers at Wofford."

The upperclassmen also fared well, as Schoen's weekend mirrored Cerbelli's. After splitting his first two matches, he took two in a row to win his sub bracket.

Sophomore
Kyle Barr won his first three matches and advanced to the final of his draw before falling in the championship match. In that same draw, Junior
Jack Thomas took home third place with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Troy's Austin Racine.

In doubles competition, the duo of Cerbelli and Schoen finished with a 2-1 record, taking 3
rd in their draw with a 7-5 win over Davidson.

Up next, the Terriers will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take part in the Wake Forest Invitational from Nov. 11-13.
