SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Lipscomb, 5-2, on a windy Saturday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center.

The win improves the Terriers to 8-4 on the season, including a 6-0 mark at home.

"The conditions were tough out there today," coach
Krissy Hall said. "I was really proud of the way the girls handled the conditions. We didn't let anything bother us and just continued to play. I was really proud of our comeback today and we're looking forward to our next match."

Lipscomb got off to a good start in doubles, thanks to a 6-0 win from their no. 1 doubles team of Viktoriya Dzyuba and Denise Buberl. The Terriers battled back to take the no. 3 doubles match, with
Emily Erickson and
Curran Carver taking their match, 6-4.

Unfortunately, the Bisons took the deciding doubles match, 6-4, to earn the critical first point of the match.

Lipscomb quickly jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the match, as Dzyuba defeated
Catherine Martin, 6-1, 6-1, in the no. 1 position.

Wofford responded by winning the next three singles matches in straight sets to take a 3-2 lead. First, Carver continued her strong play this season, winning 6-0, 6-2 in the no. 6 spot. Then,
Kalli Karas took care of Madeleine Brooks, 6-1, 6-4, in the no. 3 position. Minutes later,
Cassidy Hicks closed out her match, 6-3, 6-2, to ensure the Terriers needed just one more win to clinch the match.

Needing just one more win,
Taylor Carlson won a hard fought match 7-5, 6-4, to ensure the Terriers comeback victory.

Even after the team had clinched the match,
Lauren Reid won a tough three set match in the no. 4 position, outlasting Buberl 6-7 (), 6-2, 7-5.

Up next, the Terriers will head to the road to take on Gardner-Webb this Thursday, March 2 at 2 p.m.
