ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed on Saturday morning at the Winthrop/Adidas Cross Country Invitational. The women finished first overall with
Hannah Steelman the individual winner, while the men were third overall.

The men's 8K competition began the morning and sophomore
Jack Zemp was the top finisher for the Terriers with a time of 26:45.451 for 14
th place.
Cristian Widenhouse was 21
st in 27:33.56, followed by
Cisco Ferre at 27:52.54,
Ethan Epstein a 28:03.26 and
Dane Szalwinski at 28:34.30. Also running for the Terriers were William Stutts,
Ben Boatwright,
Ben Hensley, and
Walker Gibbs.

The women's 5K race followed and freshman
Hannah Steelman was first overall in 17:46.53. Her time was the second-fastest in school history, behind the mark she set in the season's first meet.
Taryn Schoen was second overall in 19:17.51, while
Mary Stewart Wilson was fourth at 19:27.86.
Anya Bunao took sixth place at 19:42.26 and
Shannon McAndrew was seventh in 19:53.44. Also competing for the Terriers were

Rebeka Fadgyas,
Whitley Elsass,
Sommer McKenzie,
Madison Paraskeva,
Alexandra Christopoulos,
Anastasia Burroughs,
Breck Peterson and
Chandler Washburn.

The Wofford women were first overall with 20 points. The Citadel was second with 75 points followed by Winthrop, USC Upstate, Presbyterian and South Carolina State. The Terriers were third on the men's side with 82 points. Duke was first (19), followed by USC Upstate in second. Winthrop was fourth, The Citadel finished fifth, Presbyterian was sixth and S.C. State was seventh overall.

Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Saturday, September 23 at UNC Asheville.
