Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Wofford women's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by Furman on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss Wofford falls to 8-5 and 0-2 in the Southern Conference as Furman moves to 10-8 and 2-0 in the conference.
 
The match began with the teams battling back in forth in the double matches. Despite the Terriers picking up a victory from the No. 1 position the Paladins won each of the other matches to secure the team point. Wofford's lineup for doubles was as followed: #1 Cassidy Hicks/Jenna Vroman, #2 Curran Carver/Brittney Wilbur, #3 Lauren Reid/Samantha Russell. Hicks/Vroman came up with a huge 7-6 (7-5) victory from the No. 1 position for the Terriers lone victory in doubles.
 
Wofford continued to battle in singles play but Furman swept the remaining matches to pull out the victory. The Terriers lineup for singles was as followed: #1 Hicks, #2 Vroman, #3 Reid, #4 Carver, #5 Willbur, #6 Russell. Despite falling, Vroman forced a tie-breaker and was defeated 11-9 after dropping set number one 6-1.
 
Wofford will return to the court on Sunday when the Terriers travel to Western Carolina to face off against the Catamounts at 2 PM.
