Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford men's tennis team fell 4-3 to Charlotte on Sunday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center. With the loss, Wofford falls to 10-7 while Charlotte improves to 12-13.

"Losing 4-3 is never enjoyable, however we're in a great spot physically and emotionally," said head coach
Rod Ray. "We're such a better team than we were a month ago. I'm really proud of who we've become late in the season."

The teams split the first two matches of the doubles competition but the 49ers edged the Terriers 6-4 in the final match to clinch the doubles point. Wofford's lineup for doubles was as followed: No. 1

Lucas Cerbelli. Casasolas/Williams picked up the Terriers lone doubles victory with a 6-2 win to move to 14-2 on the season.

The teams continued to battle in singles play as four of the six matches went to a third set. The Terriers lineup for singles was as followed: No. 1 Cerbelli, No. 2 Chousa, No. 3
Edu Villar, No. 4 Williams, No. 5
Parks Schoen, and No. 6
Kyle Barr. Barr tied the score at one with a 6-3, 6-0 win but Charlotte regained the lead with a victory from the number one position. The Terriers then tied the score at two when Schoen defeated his opponent 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 but the 49ers picked up a win from the number three position to make the score 3-2. Williams then tied the score up with a dramatic 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 win but Charlotte clinched the victory in the final match with a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 decision.

Wofford will return to the court on Tuesday, April 10 when the Terriers host UNCG in the team's final home match of the season. Wofford will then travel to Furman on Wednesday, April 11 before ending the regular season at Samford on Saturday, April 14.
